Parks and recreation in Bicknell
Bicknell’s city parks are the gathering places of the community: playgrounds for the kids, a walking track for an evening lap, ball fields and courts, and the stage for the Heritage Festival’s food trucks and live music every Labor Day weekend. The Bicknell City Park Board oversees the parks on behalf of the city.
Southside Park
Home of the walking track and the finish point of the Labor Day Parade. During Heritage Festival weekend, Southside Park hosts food trucks, live music and homemade ice cream. Bring a lawn chair.
Northside Park and the Mary Hoover Recreational Area
The Mary Hoover Recreational Area at Northside Park includes a ball field and a basketball court, along with playground equipment.
North Knox Swimland
The community pool at 400 Pool Drive is open from Memorial Day until the first day of school.
Playgrounds
All three city parks have playground equipment. Recycled-plastic park benches around town are funded by the plastic caps and lids residents drop at the Recycle Center.
Reserving a park or shelter
To ask about reserving a shelter, ball field or park space for an event, call City Hall at (812) 735-4636.
