The Halloween Parade
Bicknell’s Halloween Parade returns Saturday evening with this year’s theme, “Top Gun Flight School.” The parade is recommended for children ages 3 to 12, and a few lucky kids along the route will come away with aviator sunglasses and “limited edition” pilot autograph cards.
Parade entries line up in the North Knox Primary School parking lot and the parade starts at 5:00 p.m. From the school, the route follows East 6th Street west, turns south on North Franklin Street, and reaches the presentation point at Franklin and East 4th Street shortly after 5:00. From there the parade continues down North Main Street, right through the Trunk or Treat.
Organizers ask that smaller children be given room along the route. Volunteers will be watching the candy scramble, so please remind your kids to be patient and courteous with the little ones.
Parade route
Good places to watch: anywhere along East 6th Street or North Franklin Street, and the presentation point at the corner of Franklin and East 4th. Main Street south of 4th is the Trunk or Treat pathway, so plan to walk that stretch rather than drive. Expect street closures on the route from about 4:30 p.m.
